New Year, New You

3 Things to Remember To Keep You from Falling Out of Your Routine.

Be Consistent.

Most people start the year off big. They set big goals and they have big dreams. As the month(s) goes on, sometimes those goals and dreams start diminishing. Trends of working out six days a week starts slowly dropping down to two days a week and then sometimes people eventually fall out of their routine all together. Chances are those same people, in a month or two or sometimes more, want to get back into the routine and they have to start over. I can’t tell you how hard this is. Working out is hard enough, but having to keep starting from square one is even harder! There are so many who go through this vicious cycle. If you haven’t worked out in a really long time and then decide to jump into a six day a week routine, chances are you will either get injured or you will burn out. Set a goal that is manageable and be consistent!

Be Patient.

I can’t emphasize this enough. Results don’t happen overnight. It takes time. If it doesn’t take time, take a look at your program. Is it made up of detox pills, a diet that’s not manageable long term, working out two times a day, injections, etc? If your answer is yes, chances are your results will be temporary. To obtain and maintain lifelong results, it takes time. Take weekly pictures, be sure to get your weight and body fat checked and be patient!

Compete only with yourself.

It’s awesome to motivate and inspire each other but the only person you should be competing with is yourself. Are you making yourself better than you were yesterday or are you focusing on trying to out lift the person standing next to you? Each and every one of us were built and designed uniquely and differently. While you may have a stronger upper body, the person standing next to you may naturally have a stronger lower body. Everyone is different. Making sure you are progressing properly, without injury and getting stronger and better physically and mentally each and every day should always be your main focus. Always strive to be a better version of you!
